Your skin type is…
Use a Cleanser, moisturizer and a sunscreen in the morning. A cleanser, an anti-ageing serum and a moisturizer at night.
Slather your skin with a rich moisturizer while it is slightly damp in order to trap the moisture. Look for ingredients such as shea butter, cocoa butter, vitamin E in your moisturizer. Dry skin means your skin is flaky, rough, and more prone to visible signs of ageing. But don’t you worry! The upside is that you have smaller pores, and you’re less likely to break out or look shiny. Use oil-based make-up removers, balms or micellar water.
Wash your face at least twice a day. Use a cleanser containing salicylic acid or glycolic acid at least once a day to unclog pores and cleanse the skin.
Use water-based moisturisers and stricyly avoid popping your zits. If your skin type is oily, your skin loves to produce oil. This means you’re more likely to suffer from clogged pores and excess oil, which could lead to acne! But luckily, oily skin also means you’ll stay youthful for longer because your natural oils protect skin barrier function. Regularly exfoliate with ingredients like salicylic acid. Also, double cleanse morning and night to remove excess sebum and impurities and balance your skin’s moisture level!
You’re dry in some places but oily in others. The trick is to use targeted treatments for different parts of your face. For dry areas, use a creamy, oil-based moisturizer that will nourish and hydrate your skin from within. When it comes to the oily T-zone, use a BHA exfoliator and use a lightweight, gel-type moisturizer to prevent clogged pores. This may sound hard to do at first, but try experimenting with different formulas, and you’ll get the hang of it in no time!
Your skin concern is…
Acne can be caused by genetics, stress and hormones and bad habits. That’s why we highly recommend double cleansing and exfoliating if you want to achieve clear, blemish-free skin. You can also use products with acne-fighting ingredients like salicylic, azelaic, and glycolic acids and treat post-acne inflammation with calming ingredients like centella asiatica, rosehip oil, and green tea. If you’re dealing with acne scars, vitamin C can brighten scars while snail mucin can help repair skin damage.
It’s never too late to start a routine. Add intensely hydrating products to your regime to plump up fine lines and wrinkles, and look for products with niacinamide and antioxidants that brighten skin to prevent premature aging. Exfoliate regularly, and don’t forget your neck when you do your skincare routine!
Dryness - Your skin goal is Dewy/ Hydrated skin
Well if that’s the situation then you certainly require some thirst quenchers! Ingredients like Hyaluronic acid, Fermented Yeast Extracts and Snail Mucin can hydrate Intensely. To add that brightness, look for hydrating products with ingredients like Vitamin C, niacinamide. These ingredients help to balance skin’s moisture level. You can add some fun to your skincare regime by using lots of sheet masks! They are perfect for that instant dew and hydration.
Oil control/ Pores-Your skin goal is Matte/ No shine on skin
When oil collects in pores and combines with dirt and makeup, the pore can become blocked. This stretches the pore making it look bigger than it is. It is vital to maintain a balanced moisture level of the skin. Your skin care mantra should be Double Cleanse, Exfoliate and Hydrate! Double cleanse your face morning and night, don't be afraid to use an oil based cleanser. Oil attracts oil, Its a myth that oil based cleansers should not be used on oily skin. Exfoliation is vital to clean everything trapped in your pores. lastly, Hydrate! Use a good gel-based moisturiser to hydrate the skin after exfoliation. You cannot shrink your pores forever but following a (double cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate) routine and treating your pores with hydrating detoxifying ingredients like, charcoal or clay can clarify skin over time.
Pigmentation - Your skin goal is Bright / Even-toned skin
Getting a bright/ even-toned skin is a dream for most of us but guess what? It’s possible with the right ingredients, regular exfoliation and most importantly a sunscreen. Some of the ingredients that one should look for while treating hyper-pigmentation are Arbutin, Niacinamide, Vitamin C and glycolic acid etc. Your treatment products will work well only if your skin if exfoliated. Its vital to exfoliate using chemical exfoliating products. Lastly, always wear a sunscreen to protect those dark spots or patches from getting worse. Sun contributes to Pigmentation.
Loss of Elasticity-Your skin goal is Firm/ Plump skin
Your skin sags when fat, collagen and elastin break down. It is known that we stop making elastin when we hit puberty and one of the ways to restimulate production is by using creams or serums that contain retinoids. Using Formulations rich in anti-oxidants can protect the skin from all the evil forces in the environment (Free Radicals) as well as block an enzyme called elastase that breaks down elastin. A good moisturiser can make all the difference in the world. Hydration is Important! Don’t smoke and ignore those pizza cravings!
